DIY: Coffee Beans & Candle Centerpieces

Do you enjoy coffee? Do you like DIY projects? We have a fun way to use Capresso Grand Aroma Coffee Beans in a crafty new technique: Coffee Beans & Candle Centerpieces.

This chic centerpiece brings the delicious aroma of coffee to your home. While, the contrast between the coffee beans and candles, as well as the texture of the beans, add elements of design to your home.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 bag of Capresso Grand Aroma whole coffee beans
  • 1 or more candles, unscented or vanilla
  • 1 or more candleholders

Place coffee beans in each candleholder until half full. Place a candle in each candleholder; fill rest of candleholder with coffee beans. If you have extra coffee beans, place candleholders on a dish or tray and add coffee beans around the holders. Light candles and enjoy the beautiful aroma of coffee beans as the candle melts and heats the beans.

Tips for Using Capresso Milk Frothers

Each machine offers three temperature settings—Hot, Warm and Cold—allowing you to make unique beverages year-round.

Some of our most popular recipes include: Bedtime Warm Milk, Speculoos Cookie Butter Latte, Frothed Mudslide and Brazilian Hot Chocolate. Here are some tips to help you prepare these delicious recipes and give you the skills to help you create recipes of your own.

  • When making hot chocolate, always use finely grated or shaved chocolate. Chocolate syrup also works well.
  • If using a flavored syrup or powder, add a little at a time to the pitcher. Do not place too much syrup or powder in the pitcher at once as it may cause the ingredients to become stuck around the frothing/heating disk. If using a spread, such as peanut butter, heat with oil or butter to turn into a syrup consistency.
  • When making an iced drink, select the cold setting. Never pour hot milk over ice, as bacteria can grow.
  • Non-fat or skimmed milk produces the foam with the largest bubbles, making it light and airy.
  • Some milks are not optimal for making foam for cappuccino because they do not have the proteins to support the milk bubbles. These milks should be heated rather than frothed. This includes ultra high temperature (UHT) pasteurized organic dairy milk, nut milk and lactose-free milk.
  • Fresh, cold milk is a key factor in achieving good froth.

Red Tea Latte

Start the New Year with a Red Tea Latte. This caffeine-free drink is full of antioxidants, plus it has a sweet spice flavor that you’re sure to enjoy.

–       8 ounces non-fat milk

–       ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

–       8 ounces of Rooibos tea

 

Place frothing disk into the froth enhancer of your Capresso froth TEC and ensure it is securely snapped inside the bottom of the pitcher. Add milk to frothing pitcher. Place lid and press the Warm button. After about 2 minutes, slowly add the vanilla extract. Wait for frother to automatically shut off.  Pour 4 ounces of tea into glasses, and then fill glasses with steamed milk. Top with frothed milk and enjoy!

Grind It: The Right Grind Setting for Capresso EC PRO

EC PRO LifestylePulling the perfect shot of espresso is an art. There are many factors that go into preparing the shot, including grinding whole bean coffee at the correct setting.

When brewing with your Capresso EC PRO, follow these tips for a bold and delicious espresso:

  • Use a Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder to obtain the correct grind size.
  • If using the Double Spout Filter with 2-cup sieve, use the “Fine” setting. Set indicator dot to the 1st or 2nd Fine positions. Using the 2-cup sieve allows the user flexibility in the grind size.
  • If using the Bottomless Filter with bottomless sieve, use the “Extra Fine” setting. Set the indicator dot to the 2nd or 3rd Extra Fine position. The bottomless sieve requires a precise grind size and may need to be adjusted a few times to achieve the perfect brew.

Grind size is critically important, especially when using the Bottomless Filter. Different types of coffee may require a slight adjustment to the grind size.  Coffee that is fresh compared to coffee that has been left out will also require adjustments. A conical burr grinder, such as the Capresso Infinity Conical Burr Grinder, can make these fine adjustments.

Cinnamon Key Lime Ginger Latte

Cinnamon Key Lime Ginger Latte

2 servings

  • 2 Key Lime Ginger herbal tea bags
  • 6 oz. water
  • 8 oz. nonfat milk
  • 1 tsp. Monin cinnamon syrup
  • Ground cinnamon

 

Using your teaC100, bring water to a boil. Place 1 key lime ginger tea bag in each cup and pour 4 oz. of boiling water into each cup. While tea is steeping, place the frothing disk into the froth enhancer of your Capresso froth TEC. Add milk and cinnamon syrup to the frothing pitcher. Place lid and press the Hot button. Wait for the frother to shut off automatically. Remove the tea bags from cups and pour the hot frothed milk over the Key Lime Ginger tea. Garnish with ground cinnamon if desired. Enjoy!

 

Peppermint White Hot Chocolate

Place lid and press the Hot button. After about 2 minutes, remove lid and slowly add the chocolate and sugar. Place lid and wait for frother to automatically shut off.  Pour into mugs and enjoy.

Amaretto Hot Chocolate

Place lid and press the Hot button. After about 2 minutes, slowly add the hot chocolate powder. After about 30 seconds, slowly add the amaretto. Wait for frother to automatically shut off.  Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream and sprinkles and enjoy.

Pumpkin Pie Latte

Our Pumpkin Pie Latte is bursting with sweet fall flavors. Made with pumpkin puree and Torani vanilla syrup, this recipe is easy to prepare in the Capresso froth TEC Milk Frother. With this drink, there’s no need to visit the coffee shop for pumpkin spice drinks.

–       1 teaspoon sugar free Torani vanilla syrup

–       2 teaspoons light brown sugar

–       2 teaspoons pumpkin puree

–       1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

–       whipped cream, for garnish

–       cinnamon stick, for garnish

 

Place frothing disk into the froth enhancer of your Capresso froth TEC and ensure it is securely snapped inside the bottom of the pitcher. Add milk and vanilla syrup to frothing pitcher. Place lid and press the Hot button. After about 2 minutes, slowly add the brown sugar, pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice. Wait for frother to automatically shut off. Pour into glass and top with whipped cream. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and top with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.

DIY Coffee Hand Scrub

Join the DIY trend by making Coffee Hand Scrub. Ground coffee gently exfoliates and reenergizes your skin, while coconut oil and vanilla extract offer a wonderful fragrance.

Coffee Hand Scrub

4 ounces

–       ¼ cup ground coffee

–       ¼ cup coconut oil, liquid

–       2 teaspoons vanilla extract

 

In your Capresso Infinity Conical Burr Grinder, coarsely grind unflavored coffee beans. Combine ¼ cup coffee with coconut oil and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined. Let mixture rest in a cool, dry place for several hours, stirring occasionally.

 

To use, spoon a generous amount of scrub into hands and rub over skin.  Rinse with warm water and pat skin dry with a towel.
